THE EXPERIENCE
World-Class Education + Life-Changing Experience
Students who enroll in Southeastern’s degree programs will not only have the benefit of earning an accredited degree. They will also have the opportunity to develop practical skills and experience as a part of a practicum. Each semester students are required to complete and present a portfolio element demonstrating their specific skill and style in their practicum area. They can choose from one of three practicum tracks:
Creative Arts & Communication

In the Creative Arts and Communications track, students will be exposed to, equipped, and expected to engage in the broad spectrum of creative design, visual arts, and mass communication. This track includes hands on experience in event production, graphic design, video development, photography, & social media. It will also include exposure to designing, planning, executing, and participating in local initiatives, buzz events and other mass marketing strategies.
Organizational & Pastoral Leadership
Students involved in this track will be mentored in leadership principles within a variety of environments that translate to effective leadership in any setting. These include team development, coaching, critical feedback, and more. They will engage discipleship programs, small group leadership, volunteerism, counseling, and other activities. They will also become familiar with background systems including Core Motivations, Planning Center Online, and RightNow Media.
Music &
Worship Arts
Within the Music & Worship Arts track, students will explore the fundamentals of worship. They can choose between a specific focus on music, vocals, or production. They can expect to receive personalized instruction in musicianship, vocal development, or technical skills. They will also receive training in the technical and administrative components that guide the Lifesong Worship and Production teams including Planning Center Online, Ableton Live, and more.
